Adventure Day

A homeschool friend organized this day at a facility a bit north of McKinney. Three counselors (who were very laid back!) oversaw a bunch of great events.

Here's the top half of the rock wall. Jimmy on left and Mike on the right:

Butterflies!!!

Butterflies have taken over!  Our ligustrum bushes (really small trees) are in bloom and the butterflies are in heaven.
Here a pretty little yellow butterfly is nearly camouflaged in a primrose flower cup.

Can you count all the butterflies below?

A close up of the main type of butterfly hanging out in the yard.

A butterfly that looks like a leaf - I thought he was a dead leaf at first!
Our yard looks soooo pretty right now with this amazing weather.
Our honeysuckle outgrew its small trellis and is now wedged upright with steel rebar ;)  It's huge!!

The garden

We have pots with lettuce and herbs. The main garden has tomatoes (see my cute teepees!), bell peppers, jalepenoes, a cucumber, and some additional herbs. I still need a zucchini and squash but haven't seen them yet.

Mike invited his fave friends over for his birthday.

We took them to see The Hunger Games (they've all read the series and were really excited). Back at the house we celebrated with all kinds of munchies including cake.

Some of the guys spent the night and gamed until they crashed. Dad made his famous egg and sausage burritos for breakfast!
