Mongoose Mayhem

It's a bit cooler today so I took an organic box soup and doctored it.

Sautéed Zucchini, Onion, red peppers
and added a cup of mixed veggies along with the Pacific Creamy "light sodiun" tomato soup.

Now,there a healthier, more filling version of tomato soup simmering away for our lunch!

Family reunion

Jimmy was very entertained with digging up the funny little critters. I recall many a summer vacation doing the very same thing as a kid ;)

We arrived in Venice Beach - whoohoo! A bit of a rough start but we are here and ready to relax!

Sam and I showed up dressed identical at a show. Didn't even know we both owned the same dress ;) We entertained folks for the entire evening and got a lot of double takes at dinner.

My wickedly bewitching new choc chip oatmeal recipe. I was trying out a blogger's recipe but wanted whole wheat. I didn't have enough whole wheat so I also used oat flour and oatmeal along with honey and extra vanilla.

They made big, dense and chewy cookies with a touch of crunch on the edges.

Everyone snarfed them down :)

Lots of amused comments while guests ate these. We encouraged her to make them again at Halloween!

We are food snobs we couldn't bring ourselves to buy the grocery version (mSG!!!) and found a tasty sounding version online. The bacon was our idea, tho...

Jim, our friend Suzan and myself enjoyed a glorious morning run around Adriatica in our community. The weather was perfect. We live in such a gorgeous place!

We had a fabulous celebration meeting up with some our beat friends for drinks and food. We tried to find some dancing but that didn't pan out - they were two hours behind. But people watching was entertaining!

Aren't we cute? No one believes that we have been married that long, still look good AND still like each other!

I decided to experiment with squash the other night. We love enchiladas but there aren't the healthiest dish. I think I'd like a red sauce version much better. These were good but a little bland.

I stumbled over this while watering the garden. I didn't even see it for several minutes. Veggies are sneaky ;)

Toppings galore!

Jimmy and I constructed this today in 2 hrs time. It's always fun building stuff! It matches my new chairs very nicely. It will sit here by the porch - easy to grab for extra seating, leg rest, or mini table on the nearby patio.

I plan to stain the bottom half and *may* paint the top. I think I'll stain it all and then decide. You can actually have too much purple in one place LOL

My chairs are base painted and I have plants in place. There is a small table I need to paint/stain. I'm doing paint on top and stain on legs. I will also do some type of contrasting painted stencil effect on the top so it's not all solid purple.

Another chair coming soon...ran out of paint!

Is thriving and producing goodies :) we've been making homemade salad dressings with the herbs and the first few tomatoes are just now about ready.

Wisdom teeth milestone...all four were impacted so he's gonna feel it tomorrow.

The worst part is NO sparring at karate for six weeks! That's going to drive him crazy!

It's been so hot lately that this cool rainy morning is wonderful!
